Gunpowder (Double CD)
'Gunpowder 'definitely has a special place in my heart, as do all my
CDs and books, but this Album was the first that I fully produced,
plus, it’s a double CD. Never had I thought too much about
producing, it kind of fell in my lap, as did writing, but once given the
opportunity, I couldn’t pass it up. I worked on my beats with the
same passion as I did my poetry, but still, it’s hard to think of myself
as a producer, I’m too engulfed in my writing.
I had the idea for the CD ever since I started doing poetry, I had
always wanted to do a double CD. The pieces on the CD are poems that were written over a year and a half time period. All the pieces that made the album, weren’t originally on the album, some of the poems I picked out first got canceled out, and since, I decided to write for all my CD’s the same way, the best poems from that year make it. But on the other hand, when I came up for the title of the album, never once did I contemplate on re-naming it, it said it all, Gunpowder.
Special guest poets include, the Dri Fish, Ainsley Burrows, and Aqiyl. Plus, a very special quest, my father, Guy Bragg did some background Bass, and Piano on more than half the tracks. That dude’s off the hook, it’s clear where I got my ear for music from.
