The Number 9
Times has finally snuck up on me...I've been contemplating and
thinking up this CD for the last 3 years, and now, it's here.
I feel as though most of my prior CDs have themes, some spiritual,
or based on love, political, or an album dedicated to guest features.
"The Number 9," surely has a feel all to it's own, some could say of
acquired taste. And as all my CDs have a place in my heart, some
I feel better than others, while I will not stand to judge this album as
I have done before when releasing a new CD, proclaiming it as my best...but I will say, this CD, to me, has a feel as though if I were listening to the sounds of my soul. The music honestly, is the root to my albums, all of the poems were inspired from the beats. The music brought out themes, and a maturity level not achieved on prior CDs.
Thanks to Native Son, who's work I have admired for some years, is my only guest feature, and his verse was nothing less than what I expected.
